Workaround for Outlook Time Change Bug

Historically, Microsoft's mail clients have not played nicely with daylight savings time changes.  The fix has always been to restart Entourage, but it appears that does not work in their current mail client, Outlook.  Until they patch it, here's the workaround.

Open Outlook Preferences

Go to the 'Outlook' menu and pull down to 'Preferences...'

Open the Calendar Preference Pane

Click on the 'Calendar' preference pane

Change the Time Zone (to an incorrect zone)


Click on the 'Time Zones' pull-down menu. Select any other time zone than your own.

Back Out of the Calendar Preference Pane


Click 'Show All' to back out of the Calendar preference pane

Set Your Correct Time Zone


Go back into the Calendar preference pane and re-set your Time Zone to your correct time zone.

Close out of Preferences and restart Outlook.
